Renowned as the Whitewater Capital of Canada, we are cradled between the Ottawa River and Algonquin Provincial Park. Pembroke is a vibrant small city of 16,000 and home to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, a regional centre with a staff of 750+ who deliver a broad range of health care to a catchment area of 100,000 people.  Petawawa is a friendly town with a dynamic youthful population (mean age is 32), founded on its natural resources and strategic military role.

Pembroke is a hometown atmosphere with a city centre. There is a unique selection of recreation & leisure opportunities such as swimming, boating, fishing, golf, hockey, skiing and whitewater rafting. There are over 200 retail outlets. View the historical murals or visit beautiful Riverside Park with full camping amenities, playground, beach and 18-hole golf.  Pembroke is an industrious town bustling with agriculture, forestry, light manufacturing, CFB Petawawa and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.

Our newly renovated Family practice teaching clinic is attached to the Pembroke Regional Hospital and becomes the residents base throughout the 2 years of residency training. The Pembroke Regional hospital has 105 beds, access to many specialists including an ICU, imaging including CT and MRI. 

Our family physician preceptors practice comprehensive family practice. Exposing trainees to full spectrum cradle to grave care.  Medical students will get lots of hands-on opportunities, with newborn care, hospitalist, ER, and both office and hospital procedures.

You will discover that a stimulating team approach to health care is at the forefront of our work in our family health teams, FHOs, family medicine teaching unit and community health centre.

As physicians we are supported by the Pembroke Regional Hospital, with state-of-the-art diagnostics, orthopedics, obstetrics, internal medicine, radiology, mental health and a full array of surgical services.
